IT'S NOT JUST FOR HEADACHES ANYMORE....
Do you have trouble skin? Scattered pimples or a patch in one area? Or maybe you have red irritated skin?
I have a solution for you. ASPIRIN. Yes, regular NON coated Aspirin. And no, I don't want you to start popping pills...I want you to start crushing 'em!
Take about 5 or 6 regular NON coated Aspirin and put them in a spoon 2 at a time. Now take another spoon and press the back of that spoon on top of the Aspirin, carefully crushing them to a fine powder. Pour the contents onto a piece of paper and repeat with the rest of the pills.
Wash your face, and gently pat dry it, it's ok if it's slightly damp. Pour the powder from the paper into the palm of your hand and add just a FEW drops of water to it to create a paste. (another, much neater method is to pour the powder into a shot glass and add the water in there. Then use a small skinny rubber spatula...I got a mini one at the dollar store, and use that as your tool to get it out of the shot glass). Now apply this paste as a mask all over your face or just to affected areas. Whatever works best for your problem. Leave it on for about 10 minutes. But try not to move your face or talk too much cuz you'll notice that as the mask dries, small particles of powder will begin to fall all over you. So your best bet is to lay down for 10 minutes and just enjoy yourself. (We could all use a 10 minute break, right?!)
Wash the mask off after the time is up. You'll notice that this doubles as a gentle exfoliator as well while you're rinsing off, removing dry dead skin off the surface of your face,
Rinse completely off and moisturize.....with Olive Oil of course!
The active ingredient in Aspirin is Acetylsalicylic acid, which is an anti inflammatory medication, so this will help reduce the redness of the pimples and irritated skin. Making it less noticeable and smaller in size. For those of you who have been to a dermatologist or read the labels on acne products, you know that Salicylic Acid is a common remedy for acne. But these products can be expensive and can cause more damage and irritation instead of actually helping.
You can buy a store brand bottle of 500 NON coated Aspirin for about $3-$4 bucks!! Using 6 Aspirins at a time....that's over 83 mask applications!!! And you really only need to use this about 2 or 3 times a week (depending on your skin condition) So just 1 bottle will last you about a year! No 1 acne product containing Salicylic Acid will last you that long...EVER! The amount of money you'll save is ridiculous.
So, use the Olive Oil method and follow with the Aspirin method for a much cheaper, safer and more natural way to treat acne, and keep a clear complexion.
(make sure your not leaving the bottle around the sink if you have small children! ) lol
Good luck!

NEWEST LIP OBSESSION
For the past few months I have been using MILANI Lip Flash - Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencils.
Its a great alternative to lipstick that gives a subtle shimmer and full coverage. They glide on super smooth, non flaky and they're actually pretty moisturizing.
My 2 favorite colors are:
Lip Flash ( A gorgeous bronze with slight rose/gold undertones....really neutral on all skin tones) I know its the same name as the product...strange...but they all have "flash" somewhere in the names.
And News Flash ( A deep shimmery plum/burgundy - great for night time)
I tend to wear Lip Flash as an everyday daytime lip color, but I've been known to add a bit of News Flash on top for a pit of a deeper shade without going as dark as News Flash is alone.
They come in 8 colors and are available at your local drugstores and retail for about $7. At a price like that you can't go wrong ladies!

MY SKINCARE SECRET...not a secret anymore!
So I have been asked by quite a few people what my daily skin care routine is. I've tried to keep it a secret (lol) but that wouldn't be very nice of me, now would it? So I've decided to share:
Daily Cleansing Routine
Product: Extra Virgin Olive Oil ....yes, just Olive Oil.
I do this every night and every morning.
Pour a quarter size amount of EVOO in the palm of your hand and rub/massage it all over your face as if you were washing with a regular cleanser. Keep your eyes shut really tight though, cuz if the oil seeps in your vision will be blurry for about an hour!
Have a washcloth near by ( right on the sink or in your shower) and when you're ready to rinse off, wet the washcloth with really warm water and hold it to your face for about 10-15 seconds then gently wipe all the oil off. Repeat that 2 or 3 times till the oil is removed. If you wear alot of eye makeup you may need to concentrate a lil more on the eye area to remove all traces of makeup.
TRUST ME....Olive Oil WILL remove all your makeup. It will not clog your pores or cause breakouts. It actually gets deeps down into your skin opening your pores, loosening the dirt and makeup bringing it to the surface for easy removal.
Your face will feel "slightly" oily after this, but it should.
Gently pat dry your face.
Daily Moisturizing Routine
Product: Extra Virgin Olive Oil...Yes, Just Olive Oil again! LOL
I do this every night and every morning after cleansing with EVOO.
Take a much smaller amount ( I usually just press my fingers tightly to the top of the bottle of oil, tip it upside down and just use that amount as a moisturizer. Start around eyes first and then work the remainder over the rest of your face.
Olive Oil has been used for centuries in Mediterranean countries for skincare and especially in their diet. And if you notice most Mediterranean women don't have alot of wrinkles and have beautiful supple skin. This will definitely help keep wrinkles at bay!
Because I am 1/2 Cape Verdean and 1/2 Greek I use a lot of Olive Oil in my diet on a daily basis. I love it!
Give it a try and leave me a comment letting me know what you think!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!!!
So, I started this blog to talk about all things beauty related.
Makeup, skincare, hair styles/products, clothes, shoes, accessories, etc....you get the picture...
You could say I'm a lil obsessed. I read tons of magazines, I scour the internet for all things "beauty", and I read just about every beauty blog out there and thought to myself, "why not start my own?"
So, here I am. I have never done this before, and I still can't quite figure out how to design the layout...so if it looks whack for a while....sorry! I promise to "beautify" it. (eventually)
On this blog, I'll write up reviews on makeup, skincare products and all that jazz I wrote up above. I'll also include my well kept (until now) secrets of things have that I have come across on my own that really work for me.
I welcome your opinions, and actually encourage it. That's how we all learn isn't it?
So here we go..... (to be honest I'm a lil nervous....what if nobody follows me?) LOL
